History
Margaret Dean-Smith's notes on Chapter IV

Margaret Dean-Smith requested to see Mary's Autobiography and made these detailed notes from Chapter IV on The Folk Revival. She also interviewed both Esther Knowles and Fred Pethick-Lawrence and liaised with Roy Dommett, Frank Parslow, Clive Carey and Roy Judge in her search for information relating to Mary Neal and The Espérance Club. For many years, Margaret's notes remained the sole source of public information about Mary Neal. A copy of these notes are held in The Vaughan Williams Memorial Library.
