Nikki Crane

Nikki has over twenty years experience working in the arts and wider cultural sector. Her particular expertise lies in the field of the arts and social inclusion and she led this work for Arts Council England for seven years. Here, she established partnerships and programmes across arts and non-arts sectors, including the criminal justice system, health and education and with organisations working with excluded young people. This involved building relationships directly with government ministers and officials, national organisations and agencies, the media as well as individual artists and practitioners.

Nikki produced the Arts Council’s first Arts and Youth Justice Strategy in 2005. Having established a blueprint for this work, she developed the Arts Council’s relationship with the health sector bringing together the Department of Health, Strategic Health Authorities and clinical staff within the NHS.

As a consultant, Nikki has worked with Birmingham Royal Ballet’s education department and has toured with her own Flamenco company. She has produced and presented arts programmes for radio and television and judged the Grierson British Documentary and BAFTA awards. Nikki is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
