The London International Festival of Theatre Festival staged a four-week programme of Daily Dialogues at The South Bank Centre during LIFT'93, to provide an 'Open Space for the Public to Have Their Say'. This series, curated by Alan Read, included a talk entitled Folklore/Fakelore with Roy Judge and Georgina Boyes. It was due to this talk that Lucy Neal made contact with Cecil Sharp House, Malcolm Taylor, Roy Judge and, subsequently, Nita Needham and the beginning of a longer journey to bring Mary's story to light.
